All orders are securely packed and shipped overnight with trusted carriers so your lobsters and seafood arrive in perfect condition.

All retail seafood orders are shipped overnight to ensure freshness.

Orders placed before 2:30 PM ET, Monday–Friday, will ship the same day for next-day delivery.

Please allow an additional business day for orders placed on major holidays or during peak seasonal volume.

*Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed. End-of-day delivery may occur as late as 9:00 PM local time.

*Remote or hard-to-reach regions may experience longer transit times, including but not limited to: Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, Montauk, Alaska, and Hawaii. Additional fees may apply based on destination and package weight.


Shipping Costs

Shipping rates are calculated by destination and box weight and reflect the actual cost charged by our shipping partners.

Shipping quotes are available in your cart prior to checkout.


Packaging & Freshness Standards

Live lobsters and seafood are packed at our Bourne, MA facility using:

  • Insulated shipping boxes
  • Frozen gel packs
  • Packing paper soaked in saltwater to maintain freshness

Live lobsters are shipped the evening prior to delivery and are typically out of water for less than 24 hours.


International Shipping

At this time, Lobsters-Online ships within the United States only. We do not currently offer international seafood shipping due to regulatory and transit limitations.


Travel Coverage (Shipping Insurance)

Optional | $11 Flat Fee

Travel Coverage protects your order against shipping-related issues outside of our control, including:

  • Carrier delays
  • Missorted packages
  • Mechanical or flight delays
  • Weather disruptions
  • Damaged packages

If a covered event prevents delivery on the scheduled date, you may be eligible for a refund. Reshipments are not guaranteed.

If Travel Coverage is declined, refunds or credits for carrier-related delays are not available.


Delivery Expectations

  • We strongly recommend someone be home to receive the package
  • Shipments do not require a signature and may be left unattended
  • Once delivered, responsibility transfers to the recipient

Missing or Incorrect Items

Reporting an Issue

All issues must be reported on the day of delivery.

Damaged Packages

Reporting an Issue

If the shipping box arrives visibly damaged:

  • Accept delivery
  • Photograph the package and contents immediately
  • Do not discard the packaging until instructed

Damage claims are subject to carrier investigation.


Live Lobster Guarantee

We guarantee that live lobsters will arrive alive on the selected delivery date.

Lobsters may appear sluggish after transit. This is normal. A healthy lobster will:

  • Move when cooked
  • Curl its tail

We recommend cooking live lobsters shortly after delivery for best results.


Keeping It Fresh

Product Arrives Live

Cook as soon as possible. Live lobsters can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours as long as the lobster is alive.

Cooked lobster meat can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. For best results, wrap the lobster meat tightly in plastic wrap, then place in an airtight container or freezer bag, and remove as much air as possible before refrigerating or freezing.


Frozen Products

Fresh and frozen items may ship together. Partial thawing can occur.

According to FDA guidance:

  • Frozen seafood that remains below 40°F and cool to the touch may be safely refrozen or used immediately

Incorrect or Undeliverable Addresses

Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information.

  • Address changes are not possible after carrier pickup
  • Undeliverable or incorrect addresses are not eligible for refund or reshipment
  • Deliveries to closed businesses void refund eligibility

We do not ship to PO Boxes.


State Regulations & Special Shipping Conditions

Certain states restrict:

  • Minimum lobster size
  • Lobster tail weight

Alaska and Hawaii orders are subject to:

  • Additional fees
  • Limited delivery availability
  • Regulatory requirements

Refunds & Credits

Refunds are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and require same-day reporting.

  • Cooked or consumed products are not eligible
  • Approved refunds are issued within 15 days
  • Refunds are applied to the original payment method

Full refunds may be issued prior to shipment.
